Jenna & Greg: Saratoga Polo Association

I can be a very serious and analytical person. When I was about seven years old I sat my mother down and insisted she tell me right away whether or not there was a tooth fairy because it just didn’t make any sense to me. Greg might be the only person who can take me back down to earth, even at my most serious. He is loving, patient, kind, and just plain fun!  He brings out the carefree, goofy side of me like no one else can. Because of his support and generous cross-country move I can now truly call Houston home. I look forward to the rest of our journey together, wherever it may take us.

Jenna loves to cook.  I love to eat.  Sounds like a match made in heaven, but there is much more to it than that.  As Jenna was looking for jobs after grad school, it became very apparent that she wasn’t going to find one around Upstate NY.  As I came to grips with that, I also realized that I couldn’t picture myself without her. Her laughter, smile and sense of humor make everything that we do together that much better.

ON FAMILY

I was brought up in Saratoga with most of my family living within a few miles of each other (the farthest in Albany). Family constantly surrounded me. I saw my grandparents, aunts and uncles all the time. As kids my brother and I played with our cousins on a weekly basis. As we got older we worked with them at the family parking business and ran into them in the halls of Saratoga High School (and possibly at a few parties). These are all things I took for granted. Didn’t everyone have this experience growing up? Now that we are all grown up and far away, the first generation to leave Saratoga, I see just how lucky we were. My parents showed me over the years that you don’t have to like your family everyday, but you do have to love and support them. I am fortunate to have this big family to come home to. Although we may not live within a few miles of our family now, I hope Greg and I can instill the importance of family in our children someday.  I hope they will know our extended family and experience the bonds I was so fortunate to create with mine.

-Jenna

A strong family is very important.  It was with my family where I learned some of the most important life lessons.  My parents were my first role models, and my brother and sister were my first friends (even though we fought at times).  Both Jenna and I are lucky to have grown up with a strong family background, and hope to be able to carry that on as we start our own.
